About Philipe
I started my teaching career after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. I managed to get a teaching internship at the International School of Hyderabad in India where I fell in love with the idea of teaching in an international environment. I have since worked all over the world at world leading schools including Jerudong International School (Brunei) and Brighton College (UK). My results have always been commendable often exceeding the expected levels of progress which schools expect.
Throughout my teaching career I have tutored on the side. It has allowed me to get to know the students better which has aided my work to improve their Maths. I have tutored students in Spain, Brunei and the UK where I have a 100% A*-C and a 90% A*-B.

I am a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE in secondary mathematics and Qualified Teacher Status. I was working in one of the top private schools in the country prior to moving to Winchester where I now tutor. I have always focused on getting my students to enjoy the maths and initially achieve this by trying to remove the common misconception that “I can’t get anything wrong”. My aim is to instill a system which allows the students to learn from their mistakes; a process of recognition and adaptation. This has, in my 8 years of teaching, been the best way to allow the students to excel in both the short and long terms.
