About Mariac
For over a decade, I have honed my skills in teaching both English and Spanish to diverse student populations, ranging from corporate professionals to university students and young learners. My experience at institutions like Iberoamericana University and IECA in Mexico has given me a deep understanding of how to tailor lessons to meet specific learning objectives, whether it's business conversation, exam preparation (TOEFL), or foundational language skills. My resume highlights my ability to create dynamic curricula, such as the business-focused final projects for my students, which ensured they were prepared for real-world scenarios. In addition to my teaching experience, my background as a professional interpreter and translator has provided me with a nuanced understanding of linguistic and cultural differences. I have provided simultaneous translation for a variety of business settings, including negotiations and meetings, which has strengthened my ability to connect with students on a deeper, more practical level. This real-world experience allows me to make language learning more relevant and engaging for students. My skills in Cultural Responsiveness, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Adaptability enable me to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive. I am dedicated to fostering a love for language and am eager to bring my diverse experience to your school.
