About Melina

I'm Melina, an Argentine-Israeli currently living in Israel. I've been tutoring Hebrew for five years giving private lessons to high school students and adults, particularly in foundational knowledge and conversation.
My experience includes also Olim Hadashim (before and after Ulpan, to reinforce or continue Hebrew studies), Jewish or non-Jewish students, and many partners of Israelis as they prepare for daily life in Israel.
Israel is my second home, where I spent much of my childhood and lived for several years as a young adult, so I am familiar with Israeli culture. Hebrew is my second language, and I have a special affection for teaching it :)
I completed high school and college in Argentina. My studies included photography and Training as a floral therapist (Dr. Bach flower remedies—natural medicine).
I am flexible and empathetic to each student's individual rhythm and process. I am also pleasant, responsible, and accessible.

I customize and adapt the class to your Hebrew level, interests, and themes through a reading/writing method. I emphasize conversational practice and employ varied texts and content for each student. Shiurey bait will be assigned between classes (homework, especially for foundational Hebrew).
You will receive PDF books with good references, along with helpful podcast and music recommendations to facilitate immersion in this revived language.
Conversation classes: We will work to improve your oral communication skills by enriching your vocabulary and promoting the use of idiomatic expressions. Technique and grammar will also be covered.

Perfect! I have been practicing my Hebrew with Melina for more than half a year now, as I gear up for a sabbatical year in Israel. She is patient, cheerful, enthusiastic, and she regularly shares delightfully interesting and level-appropriate short texts for me to read and translate. After I read it, she always reads it back, allowing me to hear the text spoken with a native accent. Her fluency in Spanish is an added bonus, as we can sometimes compare idioms to Spanish as well. I feel I have made considerable progress over the months; I cannot recommend Melina highly enough!

Melina is the best teacher you can find, her classes have a clear and well-structured approach, which makes you understand even the complex aspects of Hebrew perfectly.
