About Sofina
I am a compassionate and supportive tutor who wants to make learning interesting who genuinely enjoys helping people understand and improve. I specialise in KS3 and GCSE Maths (particularly Foundation level) as well as GCSE Biology.
I want to teach because I find it rewarding to help students overcome difficulties and gain confidence in subjects they may find challenging. I enjoy breaking down complex topics into simple, clear steps and seeing students gradually improve as things start to make sense for them.
My aim is to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

My lessons are calm, supportive and structured, with a strong focus on helping students feel confident and comfortable with the subject. I understand that many students struggle with maths or biology not because they can’t do it, but because the concepts haven’t been explained in a clear and simple way.
In my sessions, I break topics down step-by-step and adapt my teaching style to the student’s pace. I make sure we fully understand the basics before moving on to exam-style questions, so students build a strong foundation rather than just memorising methods.
Each lesson typically includes a short recap, clear explanations of one key topic, guided practice, and independent questions to build confidence. I also encourage questions throughout, so students never feel stuck or left behind.
My goal is to make learning feel less stressful and more achievable, while helping students steadily improve their understanding and exam performance.
