About Liam
Hi! My name’s Liam. I’m 25 years old and I'm based between London, UK and the Hague, NL.
I offer tutoring in languages and essay-based subjects. This includes English Literature, History, Art History, Philosophy, Government & Politics and International Relations, as well as French (Language and Literature), and English (as a foreign language). I am experienced in tutoring both adult and school-age students, for both casual learning and learning towards qualifications.
**For the foreseeable future, I will only be available for online tuition due to COVID-19 restrictions.**
I’ve had a rich and varied education history, having studied Philosophy and French to degree level (BA Joint Honours), and recently completed an MA in International Relations, with a focus on Global Political Economy. My studies have taken me to Paris and the Hague (where I have become fluent in both French and Dutch!) as well as across my native UK to the University of Sussex (a top 20 UK university). Before that, I was educated in the British school system (GSCE’s and A-Levels).
When I was at school, I really benefited from having teachers that were not only passionate about their subject and inspiring, but goal-oriented and well-organised. While they helped instil a curiosity for learning in me, they also helped me to take responsibility for my own learning. I help students develop their own short- and long-term objectives. I find that breaking up work into individual chunks can make it easier to visualise, easier to approach, and easier to succeed at, with successes coming often and progress easily trackable.
Where appropriate, I’ll maintain a focus on UK specification-specific exam technique, a key aspect to success in the British school system. I will also provide essay-writing support and research techniques for tutees, to aid with their current essays/coursework and to prepare students in the humanities for university and beyond.

I studied alongside Liam at the University of Sussex, and we worked together on various projects throughout our degrees. Liam has an excellent understanding of politics, art, history and literature, and can write about them well in French, achieving high grades and winning awards for his work. He is also a very helpful study-companion, and can explain things clearly and patiently.
Liam tutored me for a philosophy module that I was having difficulty with. Over our sessions, he was always clear, patient and really helpful. He knows what he's talking about and he obviously loves sharing his knowledge of the subject, which meant I ended up enjoying a module I had previously found impossible! I highly recommend him as a tutor!
