About Sky

After graduating university with a first-class degree in Business and Management I moved into the corporate world ... but I wanted more. I turned to teaching in the hopes of having more of a direct impact on people achieving their full potential and have never looked back. Of course my distinction level teaching qualification (PGDE) can reassure you that I'm good at what I do. But I believe qualifications are only half of what makes a great tutor. The other half is someone that is an empathetic listener, that understands the key strengths and potential limitations of a pupil, that is adaptable to ever-changing needs of the pupils in front of them, that knows how to stretch and challenge pupils in a comfortable and confidence-building environment. That is also me. I love helping others find maths less overwhelming and more satisfying.

As a secondary school maths teacher who has taught in major cities including London and Birmingham, I understand the ever-growing pressure on pupils in the classroom. With class sizes relentlessly increasing, it is becoming harder to get the vital one-to-one support needed to excel and reach your full potential. I firmly believe that tutoring should complement your schooling, not compete with it. With a deep understanding of how the UK curriculum is staged across KS3 and KS4, I align our work directly with what you are doing in school. Every lesson is tailored to your individual needs:

Bridging the gaps: If a core building block is missing, we will identify it, step back to where you feel confident, and build your knowledge up securely from there.

Relating maths to real life: Using relatable analogies and everyday contexts, I help make abstract concepts meaningful so you can see the links for yourself.

Targeted support: Whether that means mastering the fundamentals of algebra to help you keep up in class, or refining your exam technique so you feel completely prepared for your GCSEs, you will get the focused attention you deserve.

Smart practice: Through interleaved practice and board specification-focused tasks—including homework to consolidate each session—I ensure you quickly see rewards for your efforts and feel satisfied that you are progressing.
