About Ellen
I'm Ellen, a third-year medical science student at UNSW. I am currently undertaking an internship at Berry Lab in molecular genetics at my uni, and would really like to use some of my time away from this spreading my joy of biology. I am very adaptable to personal learning methods, and keen to get to help others learn! I am passionate about report writing and lab work, as well as drawing out concepts - and keeping at it until we find a way that sticks!

Before discovering my passion for science, I really struggled to understand it. Not until I got very lucky with an excellent teacher, and then personal tutor, who I found on superprof, was my deep passion for it able to come through. I believe everyone has their own way to learn, and it requires time and getting to know the student. I am a patient teacher, and am always looking at new pathways and methods for learning. I am interested in tutoring primary and early high school students in science, including biology and chemistry. I am majoring in molecular genetics, and have a lot of experience in report writing and lab work. I have found such joy in teaching my cousins scientific concepts. They are in year 8 and starting to find science their calling as well.
