About Lily
Hello! I am a Civil Engineering with Architecture graduate from the University of Glasgow where I achieved first-class honors. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Computational Engineering, which includes the study of mathematical analysis and applied maths.
Over the course of my degree I have undertaken over 1,000 hours of self-employed maths tuition ranging from preparing for the 11+, Further Maths A Level and first year University level Maths. I am further employed by the University of Glasgow as a tutor, demonstrator and marker of Engineering maths and mechanics courses.
I achieved 4 A*s in my A Levels in Further Maths, Maths, Physics and Music and was offered a place at the University of Cambridge to study Engineering. I’m friendly and positive and I have an in-depth understanding and huge passion for maths and physics. I love being able to encourage other people to learn and pass on my enthusiasm for these subjects.
I have been giving maths sessions for the past five years, giving me experience developing my teaching technique which allows me to conduct a session that suits and supports the student as best as possible, making them feel comfortable and creating an open, encouraging environment. I have seen my students grow in confidence and ability dramatically while working with me.

I tailor every lesson to suit the ability of the student, making sure to challenge them but also prepare them for their future exams. I will closely study the exam specification before each session to make sure that I cover all the information they need and I always finish the session with interactive exam-style questions (I also provide extra exam practise questions the student can complete and send to me for feedback at any time). During the session, my creative approach to explaining maths concepts and detailed range of example questions makes it easy for students to solidify and expand their knowledge equipping them to excel later in their schoolwork and exams. I aim to give independent studying skills and a firm understanding of maths the student will be able to use for the rest of their education.
Having recently completed higher education I have insight into the stumbling blocks and challenges students are facing with the modern exams and syllabuses. I’ll be able to instinctively recognise any issues from my own experience and be able to give advice intuitively.
I am happy to tutor KS1-3 students, including work for 11+ exams, GCSEs, A Levels including Further Maths, and University Level Engineering Maths courses.

Perfect! Lily is astounding at having the patience to explain things thoroughly! She’s teaches in a way to suit you, establishes examples, gives exam practice questions, works to the exam board criteria to assure you learn all topics, and has deep knowledge upon the subject - in this case, maths. A very thorough tutor, a natural at teaching - a very clever young woman!

Lily’s tutoring is amazing!
As someone who has witnessed her sessions and her work ethic as a person, I can safely say that she is an incredibly efficient and organised individual!
She is careful to plan her lessons beforehand and takes extra care in creating a welcoming space for herself and her students. Additionally she is so happy, bubbly and lovely.
