About Isabella
Hello! My name is Isabella and I am currently a second-year medical student who has experience tutoring A-Level students in Biology and Chemistry.
I achieved 3 A* in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at A-Level, and 5 grade 9s (including Biology) and 6 grade 8s at GCSE.
I am friendly, compassionate and have a passion for learning. My main aim is to help students develop confidence in themselves and their skills, so they can feel proud of themselves on results day.

I aim to adapt teaching to the individual, so before getting started we would have a conversation about your academic goals. This will include talking about which areas and skills you feel confident and less confident in, as well as your preferred revision styles. Together we can make a plan of what you want to learn, and how to make this suit you.
I am happy to vary the lesson length according to what you prefer. But, as an example, an hour-long session would include:
- identifying which areas of a topic you do and don't understand
- using resources such as drawn diagrams and videos to teach a subject
- going over some exam questions, methods for answering them and common mistakes
- setting goals for reviewing what we've just gone over in your own time
I like to focus on fostering enthusiasm for a subject and understanding of the core concepts, as this really benefits performance in application-style questions. However, I also have loads of memorisation methods to help get tricky bits of information into your head in time for exams.
I know how stressful exams can be and am very happy to offer tricks that have helped me to perfect exam technique and manage stress throughout my academic career. I have found that practising and seeing yourself improve really helps boost confidence, so my teaching involves lots of practice questions and opportunities for active recall.
