About Daniel
I have over 23 years of classroom experience, most recently as a Head of Department and Lead Practitioner.
These roles not only demand exceptional subject knowledge, but also a passion for helping students to realise their full potential and achieve outstanding examination results.
I have taught throughout the age and ability range from Year 7 to 13 and have experience of tutoring, teaching, and leading others to plan and deliver of the following exam courses:
- IGCSE and GCSE English Literature and Language

- IB English A (Language and Literature
- IB Extended Essay
As a recent MA Creative Writing graduate, I also write creatively and publish poetry and literary non-fiction on a regular basis.

First and foremost, my students are encouraged to grow in confidence and assert their ideas with enthusiasm and academic rigor.
English should be an enjoyable and creative subject which evokes the imagination and challenges students to become confident and independent critical thinkers.
My role as tutor is to encourage a passion for the subject and guide students to use the approaches to learning they are already familiar with, to secure the success they aspire to.
Lessons will be tailored to suit a student’s interests and priorities. This will be established through a lesson by lesson review of progress and formative feedback. Through this process, we’ll be able to set challenging and inspiring goals for future learning.
With over 23 years of experience, I have an extensive library of resources to support students with their learning which will provided as part of the lesson at no additional cost.
The setting of, and detailed assessment feedback on, extended written assignments can also be offered at a reduce hourly rate.
