About Fiona
I am a friendly, approachable teacher who has over 25 years of experience teaching biology, maths and physics to mainstream, selective school and SEND students. I have a PhD, a master's in education, a BSc (hons), PGCE and QTS. Whatever your aims are, I will work with you in a supportive and encouraging way to help you reach your goals.

I'll start a series of lessons by finding out what you feel confident with, and which topics are more challenging to you. We will talk about your aims and how you like to learn. Then we will make a plan to get you where you need to be. At the start of each lesson I'll let you know what the mini aims for the lesson are. Then you'll get time to ask any questions about the previous lesson before we move onto those mini aims. We will always work together and I'm a big advocate of 'I do, We do, You do'. This means I will explain and demonstrate in ways that suit you, then we will work on a question together, then I'll give you something to practise independently. I will always go at your pace and we will celebrate your achievements together.
