About Alisia
Hi there! My name is Alisia, and I am passionate about tutoring. To me, this profession means much more than just explaining the essence of things. It’s about creating that spark for learning and protecting it at all costs. It’s about being a safe space for the student and making sure they feel confident, capable, and seen. And I believe all genuine learning begins when the student starts asking questions and trying to explain concepts themselves. There is a genius in every child, and oftentimes it is ignored or forced to fit into the narrative like everyone else. Which is why I have a way of explaining things in a way that shows the student the direction where to look in but not what to see, all while equipping them with essentials needed to form the foundation of all learning to come.

The priority is always the well-being of my student. I understand the importance of staying calm as tests and exams approach, and I believe that this stress can be alleviated by making lessons fun and interactive. I am going to include lots of games from sources like wordwall and baamboozle as ice breakers, while learning about the student’s hobbies and personality at the same time. We will follow the curriculum strictly to ensure all the learning is supporting the student’s normal classes at their school. At the end of each class the student will get homework which I will review at the start of every new lesson. I promise to create a friendly, nurturing and motivating atmosphere for every student.
