Hello everybody,

I am Cyril, and I have been an online French teacher for 4 years.

I teach French to different levels and different types of learners: children (from primary school to high school) and adults (foreigners). My courses are adapted to each student. I do not offer the same lesson to everyone: it depends on their level and their goals.

I have solid teaching experience. I currently work for a private online school. I have also worked for CNEEL, a French company that teaches students online following the CNED curriculum. There, I taught middle and high school students. I have also taught independently on platforms such as Preply and Superprof.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. I may not have a teaching degree, but I have learned how to teach through years of practice, and I keep improving my methods with every student.

I have traveled around the world and learned several languages (English, Arabic, Korean and Japanese). I have also lived in Algeria since 2016. All these experiences help me in my teaching. Even though grammar rules, vocabulary and verb conjugations differ from one language to another, languages also have certain points in common. Having studied different languages helps me to understand the difficulties of my students and to teach French to children.

Before teaching, I worked in several other fields (cosmetics, industrial racking, logistics). This taught me to be organized, patient and to adapt to different people. All my experiences and travels are an asset for teaching French.

In my lessons, I like to motivate my students, explain the rules to them and help them overcome their difficulties. What I want for myself, I want for others, so I always do my best to solve my students’ difficulties.

Je m’appelle Cyril et je suis professeur de français en ligne depuis 4 ans.

J’enseigne le français à différents niveaux et à différents publics : des enfants (de l’école primaire au lycée) et des adultes (étrangers). Mes cours sont adaptés à chaque élève. Je ne propose pas la même leçon à tout le monde : elle dépend de son niveau et de ses objectifs.

J’ai une solide expérience de l’enseignement. Je travaille actuellement pour une école privée en ligne. J’ai également travaillé pour le CNEEL, une entreprise française qui dispense des cours en ligne selon le programme du CNED. J’y ai enseigné à des élèves de collège et de lycée. J’ai aussi donné des cours en indépendant sur des plateformes comme Preply et Superprof.

Je suis titulaire d’une licence de géographie de l’université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Je n’ai peut-être pas de diplôme d’enseignement, mais j’ai appris à enseigner par des années de pratique, et je perfectionne mes méthodes avec chaque élève.

J’ai voyagé à travers le monde et appris plusieurs langues (l’anglais, l’arabe, le coréen et le japonais). Je vis également en Algérie depuis 2016. Toutes ces expériences m’aident dans mon enseignement. Même si les règles de grammaire, le vocabulaire et la conjugaison diffèrent d’une langue à l’autre, les langues ont aussi certains points communs. Le fait d’avoir étudié différentes langues m’aide à comprendre les difficultés de mes élèves et à enseigner le français aux enfants.

Avant d’enseigner, j’ai travaillé dans plusieurs autres domaines (cosmétique, rayonnage industriel, logistique). Cela m’a appris à être organisé, patient et à m’adapter à des personnes très différentes. Toutes mes expériences et mes voyages sont un atout pour l’enseignement du français.

Dans mes cours, j’aime motiver mes élèves, leur expliquer les règles et les aider à surmonter leurs difficultés. Ce que je veux pour moi, je le veux pour les autres : je fais donc toujours de mon mieux pour résoudre les difficultés de mes élèves.

Hello,

I can help a lot of kind of student about french children : adult foreigner, children...

That about I offer in my lesson :

- teaching grammar rules, conjugaison and orthograph for every one with examples and exercices. I do speaking and writing exercices with them. I explain them with examples and easy words. I ask question to the student if he understand well, especially children.
- I help students write essays (dissertations), text commentaries and line-by-line analyses (explications linéaires), and study literary works. I teach them to recognize stylistic devices in a text: figures of speech, literary registers, literary genres and literary movements. I explain the methodology behind these writing tasks. I show them how to find the central question (problématique) and build an outline, then how to write the introduction, develop each part with arguments, examples, explanations and quotations from the text, and finish with the conclusion.

-I help students learn the stylistic devices that allow them to understand a text. I help them understand a text, analyze it, interpret it and identify the author’s main message.

- I also help students improve their written and spoken expression. We study a passage from a literary work related to the theme covered in class, and the student answers comprehension and interpretation questions in writing. I help them correct their mistakes in syntax and sentence construction. If a student does not understand a text, I ask them questions so that they look for the answer and find the solution by themselves. This takes time, but it is the best method I know. I advise students to build simple sentences, justifying and proving their ideas with evidence from the text.

For foreign learners, I help them improve their spoken French and express themselves better. We discuss a variety of subjects and themes, so that they learn new vocabulary.

The first lesson
I ask the student questions to find out their level, their difficulties and their goals, then I offer a lesson adapted to them. A primary school student, a Bac candidate and a foreign adult do not receive the same teaching.

How I explain
I explain with simple words, comparisons and examples. During the lesson, the student takes part and practices both written and spoken French. I ask questions to check that they have understood. After the session, they receive exercises to review what we covered.

I have already helped several students with very different profiles. My goal is simple: to give clear methods, strengthen the basics and give students back their confidence.
