About Olivia
I have experience teaching students in elementary and secondary school, university and college, and at the corporate level.
I am a full-time French teacher with a Bachelor of Arts Honours (French, Sociology, Business), Bachelor of Education (French) and Master's degree (French).
Inspiring students while helping them learn another language and gaining the confidence to practice speaking this language is my passion!

My teaching methods include the following: lectures, discussions, brainstorming, problem-solving and role-playing. I enjoy incorporating technology and fun facts into my classes in order to engage students and peak their curiosity about the French language!
For students who wish to learn French: a typical French class includes an introduction to a new concept using a lecture-based method. I explain the concept and discuss how it's used by providing examples to students. I will then ask students to complete worksheets to practice what they know, and then we will take it up together once they are done. With any time remaining, I enjoy playing games or using scenario-based role-play in order ensure the student has correctly understood the concepts taught/learned. Students are assessed prior to beginning.
For students who need homework help: a typical French class is designed the same as above, with the exception of using classes to go over homework and focus on areas of difficulty.
I love working with students and being able to show them that learning another language is easy and fun! I have not only worked with all age groups, ranging from Kindergarten to University, but I have also had the pleasure of teaching in France and at the University of Guelph!
