It is my pleasure to recommend Anne-Cecile Begot as French Tutor. I am Victoria Hemingson, the mother of one of Anne-Cecile’s former students. Anne-Cecile is the most patient, kind, and compassionate tutor we have ever worked with. My son has ADD/ADHD and Anne-Cecile was able to get him to focus; she understood how to talk to him and connect with him. She created a relaxed but focused atmosphere, which enabled my son to try and sometimes fail without feeling pressured or judged. My son loved working with Anne-Cecile and because of her expertise in French, her perfect English, and her vast knowledge of multiple subjects, we felt there was nothing she could not help him with.
My son always looked forward to his sessions and enjoyed his time with her. Under Anne-Cecile’s tutelage, he become a confident student. She helped him perfect his accent, expand his vocabulary, conjugate verbs, and structure sentences. On a recent trip to France, he was able to able to communicate in restaurants and shops and speak to locals.
For his final French project, he wrote and created a presentation in French. Anne-Cecile’s enthusiasm and positive attitude is infectious. Her curiosity and thirst for knowledge made these class projects fun and successful experiences.
I can’t recommend Anne-Cecile highly enough. She went above and beyond French lessons—she gave my son a whole cultural experience. We miss seeing her every week!

Anne-Cécile is a French tutor of the highest caliber, and I promise I am not exaggerating when I say that she is nothing short of a miracle worker. She took my son from F’s to high A’s on every assignment and test overnight, motivating him to practice speaking and learn more vocabulary. She is lovely, committed, passionate about helping kids learn, and has methods that keep the work fun and engaging. Additionally, she got my son to do the work on his own. I’m so thankful
to her.
When my son was failing French 1 and in danger of having to repeat the course the next year, his 9th-grade French teacher highly recommended Anne-Cécile. He told us that she had helped many of his students and that she would turn things around in no time. It was hard to imagine that any tutor could help my son get good enough grades to average out his F’s in time to keep him from failing the class. However, Anne-Cécile did just that. My son had his first two sessions with her before a test, and although it involved a lot of past grammar and vocabulary, he got a 95. Not only did he do well on that first test and every test after, but his teacher remarked that he started speaking up in class within days of his first
session with Anne-Cécile.
It’s difficult to say which of her teaching methods got my son back on track so quickly because she has so many amazing qualities as both a tutor and a person. She keeps the lessons fun but focused. They had conversations that incorporated the vocabulary and grammar and she always kept at it until she was confident my son had learned the material. If it took more than an hour, she would stay more than the hour. This is how passionate she is about teaching. But it is not just their work together that helped him improve. Her encouragement, good humor, and patience made my son want to be accountable and put in the effort to learn in between lessons. It was magical.
Lastly, I want to mention that Anne-Cécile is a native speaker. I love knowing that my son is learning from
someone who can also share the culture and truly understands the nuances of the language. I recommended her to a French friend who wanted her daughters to practice speaking and she was thrilled that Anne-Cécile is French. It gave her extra confidence knowing that her daughters were conversing with a tutor with a natural accent. Having a tutor who is a native speaker may not be a necessity, but it is
certainly a bonus.
I cannot recommend Anne-Cécile more highly and can’t wait to see how my son does in French 2 this
year under her tutelage.
