About Geraldine
I am a French native who moved to the States 8 years ago with my family. I have a Masters degree in French, English, German and Russian. I have been teaching French for 5 years now to kids from all ages, but mainly middle and highschoolers.
My Tutoring journey started when we moved to the USA and I wanted to teach my kids their native language.
Then I started teaching other kids and some adults from all backgrounds and loved it.
I tutored highschoolers who all passed the IB or AP exams with excellent grades.

I do my best to have an entertaining and interesting class with my students and focus on getting them more at ease in speaking French because listening and speaking are the hardest part in a foreign language.
I am thrilled to teach and pass on my beautiful native language and culture to others.
I always assess my students first and discuss expectations in order to best answer their specific needs, because everyone is different!
I use various supports for my tutoring (games, quizzes, videos, articles,...) but also believe that conversation is key to any language teaching. But above all, I want you to have fun!

Geraldine was extremely kind, attentive and patient when helping me prepare for my IB French exam. She made lessons with my interests in mind along with accommodating IB curriculum. Geraldine really helped my understanding of grammar, along with my speaking and oral comprehension skills. I also learned a lot of useful vocabulary and colloquial French sayings. At the end I was definitely more prepared for my test. I would definitely recommend Geraldine as a teacher for any French students!
Over the past year, my daughter has taken ~30 classes with Geraldine. Geraldine got to know the areas where my daughter needed help and systematically helped her. She knows the curriculum well and is super organized. Geraldine has well-defined set of exercises for each lesson based on what my daughter needs. The lessons have helped my daughter build her confidence and prepare for high school French.
