About Pauline
I'm a French native speaker who moved to the UK for university 8 years ago, and my first real conversation in English was a disaster, despite years of good grades at school.
That experience taught me something I now build my whole teaching approach around: classroom learning is often too focused on grammar and writing, and not enough on speaking. It took courage to start real conversations with English speakers, but once I pushed through that and "unlocked" speaking, everything else became so much easier.
Alongside tutoring, I work in marketing analytics and am also starting an exciting entrepreneur journey to work with dogs. Outside of lessons, I spend my time with friends, in nature, but also love tennis and horse riding!

My priority is simple: get you speaking French with confidence, as early as possible. I know first-hand how discouraging it is to have "good grades" but freeze up in a real conversation, so speaking practice isn't an add-on in my lessons, it's the foundation.
I start by understanding your goals, whether that's everyday conversation, travel, exams, or a move to France, and build lessons around them. A typical session mixes a quick review of previous material, new vocabulary or grammar explained clearly, and then plenty of speaking practice using real-life scenarios, so you actually use what you've learned rather than just recognising it on paper.
Having gone through the exact struggle of "textbook French vs. real French" myself, I know where English speakers typically get stuck, and I adapt explanations accordingly. Whether you're a complete beginner or want to sharpen your conversational fluency, lessons are structured but flexible, and always focused on getting you talking sooner rather than later.
