About Déan
I am a native French speaker with an MPhil from Trinity College Dublin and a background in stylistics, Latin, and philology. My preparation for the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon gave me a rigorous command of French grammar and syntax. Over two years of tutoring, I have helped students prepare for DELF/DALF, university exams, and competitive entrance exams (ENS, MEEF). I have taught individuals and small groups (5–7 students). I am patient, well-organized, and committed to your progress. I welcome all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.

I design every session around your personal objectives, whether you need to master grammar, gain fluency in conversation, prepare for DELF/DALF, or improve academic writing. My method blends structured exercises with authentic materials such as news articles, film clips, and literary excerpts. Each lesson typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing time for theory, practice, and feedback. I have two years of experience tutoring undergraduate and master's students (individual and small groups of 5‑7). I welcome all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners (C2). The first lesson is a free needs assessment.
