About Cole
I hold a B.A. in French Studies and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, and over the past 9 years, I have helped learners develop comprehensive proficiency in French, combining technical mastery with expressive confidence and cultural awareness. My teaching approach emphasizes interactive learning, practical application, cultural immersion, and personalized guidance, tailoring lessons to meet each student’s goals, pace, and interests.
I have taught students across different age groups and skill levels, from beginners seeking conversational fluency to advanced learners preparing for academic or professional contexts. My approach encourages active participation, critical thinking, and authentic communication to foster fluency, confidence, and expressive skill.
Outside of teaching, I engage deeply with French literature, media, and contemporary culture to provide students with real-world examples, authentic context, and enriched learning experiences. Intermediate learners refine sentence construction, vocabulary range, oral fluency, reading comprehension, and conversational depth. Advanced learners explore literature, nuanced writing, complex idiomatic expressions, advanced conversation, and professional communication, gaining both fluency and expressive precision. Lessons incorporate discussion exercises, multimedia content, interactive tasks, and consistent feedback to reinforce understanding, retention, and practical use of French.
