About Sophie
I am a fourth year student at Massey College of Creative Arts in Wellington currently in my honours year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours. I am super passionate about creative expression and making art about things or subjects that matter to you! Whether that be painting landscapes or animals or drawing people or cartoons, self expression and giving students the skills required to achieve that is vary important to me. In my practice I work with mostly large scale acrylic and oil painting focussing on the human form and themes of identity. I love working with bold or unexpected colours and generally having fun with the work I am creating!

Content tailored to each students needs and goals for improving their artistic ability or creative expression. Tutoring in painting, printmaking and drawing available and fit to student’s age and skill level. The student will learn techniques and processes aimed at allowing them to develop their technical art skills. This means learning about anatomy, drawing and shading techniques, perspective, colour theory (using and understanding the colour wheel and how to mix colours) and painting techniques. The student will also practice and utilise these skills by creating finished pieces that they can be proud of. Creative expression is very important to me as well as technique so the classes will be tailored to subject matter and art styles that the student is interested in. Lesson times and lengths are flexible as well as lesson location.
