About Mary
I am a geology student at Wayne State University. I got my Associate's degree of Science in Liberal Arts from Schoolcraft College. I am now close to getting my Bachelor's degree of Science in Geology with a minor in Dance. I have taken math all the way through Calculus 1 and am prepared to teach all subjects up to Calculus 1. I have experience with children as I was a camp counselor for 3 summers and also a temporary dance instructor at my old dance studio. I have cared for and taught children ages 3-18.

First and foremost, it's very important that all my students are comfortable with me and are not afraid to speak up when something doesn't make sense. It's so necessary for the growth of the students to be able to communicate their needs. And that's the point of teaching! To make sure all needs are met, whether that's personal needs of the student or knowledge-based needs and curriculum. I encourage students to communicate with me and open up to me. From there, I want to invite my students to learn not just to complete a problem, but learn to understand. When you learn to understand, the following problems can be tackled without having to go over or review material. I will do everything I can to create a safe space where learning and understanding is the base.
