About Ethan
Hello! I am a fourth-year Actuarial Science student with a strong background in Mathematics, Statistics, and quantitative problem-solving. I have developed a deep understanding of these subjects through my academic studies and enjoy helping others build confidence and improve their skills.
My goal as a tutor is to make challenging concepts easier to understand by explaining them clearly, patiently, and in a way that suits each student's learning style. I believe that effective tutoring is not only about finding the correct answer, but also about helping students understand the reasoning behind each step so they can approach future problems independently.
I offer personalised lessons focused on improving understanding, strengthening problem-solving techniques, and preparing students for tests and exams. My approach to private tutoring focuses on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than simply memorising methods. As an Actuarial Science student, I have developed a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, which I use to help students break down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps.
I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities. Each lesson is adapted to the student's individual needs, whether they require help understanding new concepts, preparing for tests and exams, improving problem-solving skills, or strengthening foundational knowledge.
A typical lesson will involve reviewing the student's current understanding, explaining key concepts in a simple and practical way, working through examples together, and practising similar problems to reinforce learning. I focus on identifying areas of difficulty and providing strategies that students can apply independently.
