About Tim
My name is Tim Fedalen and I am an Automation Expert that has spent many years working as a full-stack developer. My favorite areas of expertise are databases (SQL) and artificial intelligence. I have worked in information technology in the field in many different types of organizations for over 13 years. I like to build things from scratch as to understand them better. You've probably heard the saying "Never re-invent the wheel" However, I think in order to understand the wheel (in order to REALLY understand the wheel), you must re-create your own wheel from scratch.
My passion and drive for helping people change the way that they normally operate their businesses with the automated artificial intelligence applications and services that I have created from the ground up is what inspires me to teach others and help them get closer to achieving their dreams or, if necessary, to help them get closer to realizing what those dreams may be.

Within my lessons I am sensitive to your level of experience and cater to your specific needs and areas that you are interested in most.
I am extremely passionate about what I do and love teaching others the amazing and interesting things I discovered in my travels as a full stack software engineer. I am particularly talented at explaining complex concepts in a way that can be easily understood and digested. For example, to explain an unhandled exception in programming: I would ask you to go to the store and buy me 'Red-Brand' milk. When you get to the store and go to the milk section, you realize there is no 'Red-Brand' milk in stock. You then call me on the phone to tell me the store is all out of Red-Brand milk (if you followed my instructions exactly). I never told you ahead of time what you should do if the milk I want isn't in stock. Because of this, you reach an unhandled exception and raise an error ( in this example, calling me to report you cannot continue your instructions (and the reason why.))
A typical lesson plan would be tailored to your current needs and to perhaps clear up what you are struggling with most.
An example of lesson plan for a particular topic (C# Data Types):
-Overview of Data Types for C#
-What are data types and why are they used?
-What are the main data types?
-Data types extended (more data types)
-Examples of data types in use
-Best practices
-Interactive practical application exercises
-Evaluation (if requested by student)
-Recap / closing
I think what sets me apart is that I have over 13 years of real world experience in the field in Information Technology and I eventually started my own AI company from the ground up and have been successfully serving a major Water Quality Control Authority for several years with Automation services. I built these services from scratch using my knowledge that I learned on my journey.
I want to teach people that are interested or thinking about computer science or computer programming specifically. I feel that my excitement and pride regarding what I do and what I have achieved can inspire others to chase their dreams. Because after all, that is what I did. It was once seemed impossible for me to be where I am now. However, with grit, determination and a love and passion for software engineering, I feel that you can achieve anything in this modern world.
