About Michael
I have two degrees: Spanish Literature & Language and International Financial Economics from Brooklyn College. As a Spanish major, I was required to take a wide range of classes where English was not allowed; my professors were primarily from Spain or Colombia and taught us primarily Espanol Castellano (Castilian spanish). However, as a result of living in NY and studying Spanish, I was able to learn why words are formed the way they are, the various dialects, the history and diasporas of spanish culture, and the list goes on.
Aside from education, I have traveled and frequently travel to many hispanic/latinx speaking destinations, allowing me to continue honing my skills. I have experience traveling to: Madrid, Majora, Barcelona, Dominican Republic, Bogota, Cartagena, Peru, and Medellin.
Five Years after college, I am now a Business Systems Consultant and Airbnb Host - with one of my places being in the dominican republic!
To wrap this up, I am by no means a professional spanish tutor (yet!) and my price reflects that; however, I am an experienced teacher and listener, understand how to tailor solutions to meet specific goals, and have extensive knowledge of Spanish literature, language, and culture as a once acedemic (even read the original Don Quixote).
