About Paola
I went to Virginia Tech where I graduated with a degree in Mathematics.During my time in college I worked with several college students, tutoring several math courses that the school offered. This is where I realized I had a passion for helping others and to change the negative outlook that most people had for math.
For the past3.5 years I've been working as a teacher at a high school where I helped teach algebra/ geometry and assisted other students with courses such as precalculus,calculus, and statistics. I love working with students and my goal is to not only help them with understanding the material but to increase confidence when it comes to approaching and completing math problems.

I understand how difficult topics can be, especially in math. I myself struggled with math growing up therefore believe I have the patience and understanding to help those that need assistance.
When working with students I have them lead the thinking. My goal is to find the root of the misconception to immediately address it. I do not believe in just giving the answer. Lessons will always begin with an example that is led by me, followed by an example that we work on together, then ending with independent work where students do the heavy lifting with assistant from me when needed.I can promise you that working with me with help increase your confidence in the work you do and you'll be able to address any math problem that comes your way!
