About Kristen
While not formally certified in teaching, I spent over twelve years educating my two children. This involved researching curriculums, sometimes developing my own, and developing and administering lessons and evaluations. My specialties were grammar, writing, spelling, and history. While I did not teach math or science--my husband did those--my career has been in healthcare for over twenty years, which has given me the opportunity to study anatomy and physiology as well. I have a Bachelor's in Allied Health.
Both children have excelled in their college studies. My son will be graduating with his Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering next spring, and my daughter is finishing her master's while working as a NASA engineer.
I am happy to share my knowledge with those that want or need it.

While I believe education is highly personal and based on the needs of the student and would attempt to create lesson plans and methods accordingly, my teaching preference is highly traditional. This would be executed using information the student already has available or using highly regarded curriculum from my days as a teaching parent--whichever makes more sense for the specific situation.
I have an interesting combination of loving grammar arts, vocabulary, and history. Simultaneously, I am also fascinated with the workings of the human body, being a worker in healthcare for over twenty years. I would love to help students with any of these subjects.
Since I taught from kindergarten through high school, I would be open to any in those age ranges, depending on the subject matter.
