About Arnold
As a teacher, my greatest satisfaction was in seeing students learn. Not because they were tested and re-tested, but because we envisioned their wants and planned what it would take. Then we established good habits to get them to their goal.
When you are trying to learn, time is best spent focused. As a Workforce Developer, I taught adults to map out their goals so we could get them a job. Learning to apply your gifts early will be an advantage in the job market. Knowing yourself and expressing your truth is the foundation of engaging with people. The ability to interpret what you read, speak with conviction, and write with passion are based on being your best self.
My goal is to get you to express your best self through language arts. The journey may not be easy but I am proud to make students confident that they can always meet the task.

I seek to make students desire to be prolific. I want students to become accustomed to trusting their own opinions by supporting their assertions with research. Typically, I will provide students a lesson plan with several breakdowns, i.e.
Is it important to vote?
- How do you decide who gets your vote?
- Which is more important - local or national elections?
- How does your decision affect your community?
Students will start with long form essays and then edit them to shorter, stronger opinions (e.g. 500 words >300 words > 200 words). I expect students to do their research on people, places and events they cite, and to not just ask questions, but pose real solutions.
My practices have been with high school students, especially those working on college entry or preparing for standardized writing exams.
