About Ashley
I’m a former Head of School and co-founder of an alternative provision working with young people who have been permanently excluded from school, with over 15 years’ experience in education. I’ve led large teams, with a strong focus on safeguarding, behaviour and creating environments where individuals can succeed. My work has always centred on people who need a more individual, thoughtful approach to learning. I’ve supported students across a wide range of needs and abilities, including those who are neurodivergent, have special educational needs, or experience social, emotional and mental health challenges. I understand that progress doesn’t look the same for everyone and that confidence, clarity and trust often matter as much as academic knowledge. Alongside my professional experience, I bring values shaped outside the classroom. I hold a black belt, which has taught me the importance of discipline, resilience and consistency over time, and I am a Grade 8 musician, where patience, practice and self-belief are essential. I have also travelled extensively, gaining a broader perspective on people, cultures and different paths through life, experience that has strengthened my empathy, adaptability and ability to connect with individuals from all backgrounds. I believe school and exams are only part of the picture. My role is to help individuals prepare for assessments, understand their next steps and develop the confidence and life skills needed to move forward positively. I work calmly, collaboratively and with care, building strong relationships and supporting progress at a pace that feels manageable.
