About Jessica
Hi! I’m Jessica. I’m a former college professor with more than 15 years of teaching experience and a Juris Doctor (J.D.). I’ve spent much of my career helping students take ideas that feel scattered, overwhelming, or difficult to explain and turn them into clear, organized writing.
My approach is supportive, practical, and collaborative. I’m not here to take over your paper or replace your voice. I want to help you figure out what you are trying to say, organize it effectively, and become more confident in your own writing.
I’ve worked with students on everything from basic essays and research papers to college applications and personal statements. I especially enjoy the moment when a student realizes, “Oh—that’s what I was trying to say!”
Writing does not have to be perfect when you send it to me. Bring the rough draft, the half-finished idea, or the paper that just isn’t working yet. We’ll figure out what it needs from there.

I work as your editor, but the writing remains yours.
This is a collaborative, asynchronous approach for students who need detailed essay support without adding another meeting to a busy schedule. You send me your draft and prompt, and I review the essay for prompt alignment, organization, argument or story development, paragraph structure, clarity, flow, and sentence construction.
I don't simply correct the paper and send it back. I work through it as an editor. I may suggest moving paragraphs, combining or restructuring sentences, identifying repetition, strengthening connections, or showing where an idea needs more development.
Throughout the draft, I place questions in bold where I need more from you. You answer those questions in your own words, giving us the material to strengthen the next draft while preserving your voice.
For analytical and academic essays, we focus on the argument, evidence, organization, and prompt. For personal statements and narrative writing, we also work extensively with the story path—making sure the reader can follow the experience, understand why it matters, and see where the story is going.
You provide the ideas, evidence, experiences, and voice. I provide the editor's eye, structure, and guidance to help you communicate them effectively.
I am a former college professor with 15+ years of teaching experience and hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.), with extensive experience teaching and evaluating college-level writing.
