About Allison
Allison is a former Art Education student from ORU that specializes in Elementary Education (4years experience). She works well with the younger generation as she has had 15 years of experience working in childcare. She has worked as both a babysitter and nanny, as well as a (church) nursery/preschool teacher. Her specialization in elementary education, along with professional experience, has given her the knowledge of child brain development and the understanding of different temperaments in children. This allows her to better work with each child based on their specific needs or desires in the art world!

My lessons are geared toward pre-k to elementary aged kids. They are based on their interests while also challenging them to try new things! I focus on bringing the interests of the kids into their artwork and allowing them the freedom to express their emotions through an outlet: ART!
A typical lesson plan would look like:
-understanding how the child is feeling or what interests them that day
-choosing a medium of their comfort (and working into other mediums they're not as familiar with)
- picking a creative piece based on those things, while teaching about basic art principals (such as color, shape, texture, movement, etc.)
A specialty of mine is teaching kids that they can make art out of anything! Don't have watercolor paint? We can use coffee or make some from scratch! Don't have drawing utensils? We can create art using nature or finger painting! I believe there should never be a reason that a child is not able to express themselves through creativity!

Details
In person pricing is set at $40 per hour to cover the cost of any art supplies used per session, with a $5 travel fee.
Webcam sessions are set at $30 per hour for a more convenient session, where children will be able to use supplies that they have at home.
