About Helene
After performing well in my formal study of Spanish 1 through 5 many years ago, I still speak Spanish on a regular basis at work & in leisure. I also continue to consume Spanish media in order to keep my skills sharp. It has been a helpful skill to have alongside those learned from my Bachelor of Science in General Physics with a minor in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, which I earned in 2023.

My lessons are for students of all ages and all levels (1 through 5) of Spanish, as well as any learning purpose (travel, personal enrichment, understanding Spanish media, etc.).
My lesson plans unit by unit focus on pronunciation and verb conjugation, then further outward with preposition use, nouns, and adjectives. Helping students develop an increasingly sophisticated use of words in a manner that allows the speaker to preserve their personality is the final layer. I call it the Tree Method.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have a firm understanding of Latin American pop culture and references, which I can feed into a lesson to better cement the material and enrich the learner when appropriate.
