About Walker
I am a flute tutor with 5 years of experience, having successfully taught over 150 students of all levels. My lessons focus on building a strong technical foundation while also encouraging creativity, improvisation, and expressive playing. I emphasise breath control, finger technique, tone quality, and rhythm, while tailoring each lesson to the student’s unique needs and goals.
Beyond individual technique, I provide guidance in sight-reading, music theory, and performance preparation, helping students grow into confident and versatile musicians. My mission is to inspire students to play beautifully, confidently, and passionately, developing both skill and a lifelong love for music.

I teach flute with a methodology that emphasises adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I focus on understanding each student’s learning style and tailoring lessons to their pace, abilities, and interests. This ensures that learning is productive, enjoyable, and inspiring.
Flexibility allows me to modify exercises, repertoire, and practice routines based on student progress and goals. Collaboration is a key component: students participate in duets, ensemble exercises, and interactive sessions to develop confidence, listening skills, and expressive abilities. Positivity is central to my teaching, creating a supportive atmosphere where students feel motivated to explore, experiment, and celebrate achievements.
Alongside flute, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and sight-reading. This well-rounded approach helps students gain technical skills, musical understanding, and expressive ability, preparing them to perform confidently and creatively.
