About Tristan
Bonjour! My name is Tristan. I am bilingual in French and English with a strong academic background having achieved a grade 9 in GCSE French and an A at A level. My experience with the subject means I understand both the language itself and the demands of the examination system.
Currently, I am at the University of Exeter, studying Business. While in sixth form, I supported younger students with their French, helping them improve their understanding and build confidence. This experience developed my ability to explain things clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
I aim to create a supportive and relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress. Having recently sat these exams myself, I also understand the challenges students face and can offer practical strategies to help them improve both their grades in French.

As a bilingual student at school in sixth form, I supported younger students with their French, helping them build confidence and improve their understanding. This experience shapes the way lessons are taught, with a focus on patience, clarity, and encouragement.
Lessons are interactive and built around what students are already doing at school, revisiting topics they’ve covered to make sure everything fully makes sense. Once confidence is there, we will build on this to help students progress further. This ensures that each lesson is adapted to suit student’s needs, whether they are catching up, keeping on track or aiming for top marks.
My overall aim is to help students feel more confident in French AND make clear progress in their school work.
