About Delphine

I’m Delphine, from Belgium, now living in London where I’m doing a master’s in Global Mental Health at King’s College London.

I speak Dutch, French and English, and I’ve lived and studied in the Netherlands, so I’m comfortable with both Flemish and Netherlands Dutch. I know from experience what it’s like to learn a new language, and how much confidence matters when you start speaking.

I have a degree in psychology and have worked with children and young people in mental health settings, as well as in international environments. This has taught me to be patient, adapt to each person, and create a comfortable space where learners feel free to make mistakes and grow.

I love meeting new people and sharing my languages and culture. I can’t wait to help you speak Dutch with confidence!

About the lesson

My lessons are all about speaking Dutch with confidence. No boring grammar drills: we learn by actually talking.

How I teach
Each lesson is built around real conversation. We talk about things that interest you, like your hobbies, travel, work, school or everyday situations such as ordering in a café, chatting with colleagues or talking with your Dutch or Belgian family and friends. Along the way, I help you:

Build vocabulary you’ll actually use, learned in context so it sticks
Improve your understanding with short videos, articles or audio we discuss together
Speak more naturally, with gentle corrections and tips on how Dutch is really spoken in both the Netherlands and Flanders

I adapt every lesson to your level, age and goals, and I keep the atmosphere relaxed, so you never feel afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you learn!

Lesson format
Lessons can take place in person in London or online, whichever suits you best. The length is flexible too: 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour or longer, depending on what works for you.

About me
I’m from Belgium and have lived and studied in the Netherlands, so I know both Flemish and Netherlands Dutch. I also speak French and English, so I understand what it’s like to learn a new language. I have a degree in psychology and experience working with children and young people, which helps me create a patient, supportive space where learners feel comfortable.

Who it’s for
Learners of all ages, from children discovering Dutch or keeping it up at home, to adults moving to the Netherlands or Belgium or wanting to speak with their partner’s family. Beginners and advanced learners are both welcome.
