About Vasja
My name is Vasja - I obtained an ATAR of 99.85 (99.95 scaled) in 2021 and received a first-round offer to study Medicine at the University of Adelaide. My Year 12 subjects were Biology, English Literary Studies, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry and French (continuers), and I completed Research Project B in Year 11. I gained merits in Biology, English Literary Studies, French and Research Project. I would love to help explain concepts to people they can't quite grasp and ensure things truly do 'click' - it's important you feel confident with your learning! My personal interests include swimming, film and music.

Communication is key - if I feel a student is not confident with a concept, I will endeavour to re-explain in a different way. It can sometimes take time for things to click - and that is okay! I will aim to find what works for the student - everybody is different. Some thrive through visual learning and colour association (may suit Biology in particular as diagrams are common), some find repetition and resources such as flashcards work best, and some find writing material themselves or 'chunking' works best for them. My resources include the SASTA 2021 Biology Study Guide, my own personal notes and the SACE Essentials Stage 1 and Stage 2 Biology textbooks. Length of a lesson will suit the student's needs and how much we aim to cover in one session - 1-2 hours may be a rough guide. I can also assist in drafting Practical Reports and Science as a Human Endeavour assignments - it can be difficult for students to know what exactly to include in these in order to obtain an A+. I would be happy to tutor for Stage 1 and 2 Biology or Middle School Science!
