About Jesse
My name is Jesse and I recently matriculated from Herschel High School with a bachelors pass which has granted me the incredible opportunity to embark on a journey towards a degree in law. In my final year of high school, I achieved the highest result for Advanced Programme English within my grade and so suffice to say I am somewhat of a literary geek. This unquenchable passion for English will serve me well in equipping my students with the necessary linguistic tools to tackle and eventually soar through this enriching subject.

Whether we are delving into the fantastical worlds of fiction or trudging through boredom-inducing grammar, I promise to always deliver my lessons with enthusiasm and kindness. I aim to create a safe and nurturing space wherein mistakes are never met with critique, but instead with a listening ear and a helping hand.
I will be providing lessons to students in Gr 4 through to Gr 10. I will happily tackle essay writing (creative or academic), literature and poetry and hopefully through these lessons I can instil a glimmer of passion for English in the even most reluctant readers.
When dealing with literature, a typical lesson will consist of reading through the prescribed text before unpacking the greater metaphorical or figurative meanings underpinning the novel, play or poem. With regards to essay writing, I will provide mock essay questions to my students if they do not already possess any assigned essay on which they wish to work. I will then guide my students through the essay writing process and aid them in refining their academic or creative voice.
