About Matthew
Hi, I’m Matthew, a Mathematics graduate from UCL (First Class Honours) and LSE (MSc with Distinction), currently working as a Senior Associate in Data and Analytics at Royal Bank of Canada.
I want to teach because mathematics was a subject that opened many doors for me academically and professionally, and I enjoy helping students build the same confidence and problem-solving ability. Through my experience in quantitative roles across finance, consulting, and analytics, I have developed a clear and practical way of explaining complex concepts, which I bring into my tutoring.
My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also feel confident approaching exams and challenging problems. I work best with motivated GCSE and A Level students who want structured, professional support and clear guidance to achieve strong results.

Matthew takes a pragmatic and structured approach to tutoring, focusing on exam technique and confidence from the very beginning. Lessons are built around understanding key concepts quickly and applying them to exam-style questions, helping students become comfortable with the types of problems they will face in GCSE and A Level exams.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and includes a short review of concepts, guided problem solving, and targeted exam practice. The aim is to build confidence through repetition, clear explanations, and structured practice so students can approach exams calmly and systematically.
Matthew holds a First Class Mathematics degree from UCL and an MSc from LSE (Distinction), with A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and experience with Cambridge STEP exams. Lessons are suitable for GCSE, A Level, and Further Maths students who want to improve performance and feel more confident in exams.
