About Tasmin
I am a first class music graduate from the University of Durham. I received special accreditation for my dissertation, as well as first class grades in both Performance and Theory & Analysis modules. I have a fantastic success rate with previous students, as all of them have achieved their predicted grade or above. My students additionally walk away feeling confident, inspired, and having a passion for music.

I have an extensive background in tutoring music and music theory. Theory: I usually like to work through a past paper with the student first to identify their strengths and knowledge gaps, using this data to make detailed, well-informed lesson plans. Topics range from reviewing SATB voice leading & cadences, modulation, chorale style harmony writing, orchestral score reading, theory and analysis, and exam techniques. KS4 & KS5: Begin by identifying the student’s chosen examination board and developing a thorough understanding of its specific curriculum, assessment format, and marking criteria. Use this insight to design a structured weekly lesson plan that systematically covers all key topics. Incorporate regular practice papers to familiarise the student with question formats, weighting, and time management strategies, ensuring they can approach the exam with confidence and precision.

As a former classmate of Tasmin, I can firmly say that she is an excellent choice for a tutor. Her gift for maths and music as well as her inexhaustible patience were the only things that got me through my A Levels, and, now that she has further experience tutoring while studying, I would recommend her to anyone looking for an effective tutor.
