About Sarah
I have a First Class Honours Degree in Primary Education and have been teaching for over ten years now. I love my job and I have been commended for my holistic approach by both students, parents and colleagues. Throughout my career, I have worked as both literacy and numeracy lead to progress learning in these areas. I have worked in a range of different schools in the UK, online and overseas. I work with children with different learning styles on a daily basis and ensure that each child is catered for to ensure progression. I have seen different issues and blockages that students can have when it comes to learning in maths, spelling, reading and writing, and I am very well qualified in finding different methods that work for each child under my care.

My lessons are aimed to develop confidence in your child and will provide them with a love for learning across the primary curriculum. Lessons are tailored to fit your child's unique learning style. The length of lesson is dependent on your child's age. I have been a qualified teacher for over ten years, working both in the UK and overseas. I am qualified within the British, Scottish and International Curriculum. I work with children between ages 4-13, helping them raise attainment in Numeracy and Literacy. I have gained qualifications through White Rose Maths using concrete, pictorial and abstract materials to help bridge any gaps in learning. As the current maths lead in my school, I have created a range of different learning materials for all primary age groups that are differentiated to support each style of learning. Throughout my career, I have also been literacy lead. I love teaching spelling through using the Active Literacy programme as it provides children in my care with a concrete visualisation of how words are built. I have an outstanding record of developing children's writing through allowing them to use their own knowledge and interests to establish their ideas. I utilise their interests to choose novels to help guide their writing through a book study. My children love this way of learning as it opens up a whole new world for them within the book. The study is developed over 8-10 sessions whereby your child will be learning about a writing style, building vocabulary, understanding grammar, developing reading skills and creating a masterpiece that they will be proud of.
