I am a first class history graduate, from Newcastle University. I have 4 years of experience as a History Tutor and am ambitious to make a real difference in students' lives.

About Meg
I am a history graduate, who specialised in enslavement and the reconstruction period in the USA. I have a passion for learning and am excited to help others learn too. As history has been a passion of mine for many years, I have a broad knowledge on a number of topic areas. I have experience in all GCSE and A-Level English exam boards, including OCR, AQA and Edexcel. However, I am able to successfully adapt to a range of international and UK curriculums. I am fun loving and easy to get along with, so I can make one to one lessons engaging, interesting, personalised and flexible. I pride myself on the organisation and time management skills, meaning all sessions will have been prepared. In the last 4 years, I have successfully guided 24 students through their examination prep, all of whom excelled their grades by 2 or more.

My lessons will include a range of content revision and examination prep. They will be flexible and uniquely planned to suit each student's needs. We will use real exam style questions to ensure that knowledge can be applied effectively for the exams. I prepare my lessons using PowerPoints, that can be sent to the students after their lesson to aid with later revision. I set specific take-home tasks after each lesson to ensure that the student has the ability to practise what has been taught. I provide written and verbal feedback on these tasks, to allow students to observe their strengths and areas for improvement. These areas for improvement will aid the upcoming sessions.

We hired Meg to tutor my sister in her AS levels as she had to retake her history exam and I cannot express how impressed I was with her. Not only she was excellent at explaining the subject to my sister, who generally did not enjoy this subject in particular at school, but she was constantly including me in the process of their sessions leaving the most thorough feedback and expressing her honest concerns and the weaknesses that needed to be attended to. My sister ended up passing the exam by moving two grades up! Meg is very gifted in tutoring and if you decide to hire her you will not be disappointed.
