About Rachael
I am currently working as a German Teaching Assistant in the Modern Languages Department at the University of Sheffield. I also have a First Class Degree in Modern Languages and Cultures (German) and have C2 level language proficiency. I recently spent 13 months working and studying abroad in Germany, where I taught English at a secondary school in Bonn from the ages 10 to 20 and studied German Literature at the University of Heidelberg. These experiences have not only deepened my cultural awareness, but have also enhanced my language skills to a high professional and working proficiency.

Motivation to learn comes through enjoyment; my approach to teaching is therefore one that is fun :) I am most experienced at teaching German at GCSE and A level and have a good understanding of the exam structures and exam board requirements. However, my experience also stretches to beginner students in German, as well as those at a higher level (C1). Whether you wish to pick up the language from scratch, or simply want to improve your German, I can tailor my lessons to your individual needs. I strive to enthuse and motivate students to enjoy their subjects, as I do myself, whatever their age or ability. Many of my resources are game-based, or interactive, involving different tenses or vocabulary. Enjoyment is a vital component in helping students recall a language. I'm an approachable and friendly person and I'm quick to reply to messages, so if you ever have any questions outside of lessons, big or small, I'll always be there to answer them. While I am currently based in Sheffield, I'm also available online to deliver lessons, whether via Skype or Google Classroom. Viel Spass beim Lernen! :)

My rate remains the same no matter what level my student is working at and I have no cancellation policy for my lessons providing I am told about the cancellation in advance. First lesson is offered at half price for an hour or 30 minutes for free
