About Nina
I have a genuine love for English Literature and am currently applying for Master’s programmes in the subject. This enthusiasm shines through in my teaching, and I aim to help students not only improve their skills but also develop a real enjoyment of literature (if they don’t already!). Literature offers invaluable insight into both the world around us and our own experiences, and I enjoy exploring this with my students. I understand first-hand that studying English does not always come easily. As a student with dyslexia, I learnt the importance of tailored explanations and patient, supportive teaching that plays to individual strengths. This experience has shaped my approach as a tutor: I prioritise patience, encouragement, and adaptability in every lesson, ensuring students feel confident and supported as they progress.

Lessons are designed to be flexible and fully tailored to the individual. I take an adaptable approach to teaching, working together to find methods and explanations that suit how you learn best. Everyone engages with material differently, and often achieving confidence and success simply requires a new perspective. Teaching is delivered in a warm, friendly, and patient manner, with lessons paced to meet your needs and allow time for understanding, practice, and questions. Drawing on a first-class degree in English Literature, I offer a strong and comprehensive understanding of the subject at GCSE and A-Level. I also bring practical classroom experience from working as a teaching assistant in both primary and secondary schools, which informs an accessible and supportive teaching style. Lessons typically last around one hour, though session length and structure can be adapted to suit your schedule.
The lessons can be adapted to whatever you need help with such as: school English curriculum, set texts, general subject understanding, essay writing and coursework guidance, proofreading, and exam preparation.
