About Luciana
Hello! I am a recent English Literature graduate with a First-Class BA from the University of Leeds. I have two years of experience helping school age-students prepare for exams, build on skills they've gained in lessons and improve in areas they struggle with. In addition, I have helped students who speak English as a second language to build on their reading comprehension, listening and conversational skills. I have a proven track record of helping students reach their target grade.

I am highly flexible and like to adapt my lessons to suit the student's individual needs.
For example, if a student speaks English as a second language and wants to work on their speaking skills, I'm happy to spend the hour chatting! Alternatively, if a student wishes to prepare for their GCSE English Literature exam, then I will plan a series of lessons designed to help them improve in targeted areas. I have a proven track record of helping students achieve their target grade.
With KS2 and KS3 students, I begin the lesson by covering either punctuation, spelling, or literary techniques. I tend to focus on one specific point in detail to ensure students really get to grips with it. To maintain student engagement, I ask regular questions and give them the opportunity to write sentences of their own. In the second half, I give students a prompt, such as a picture of a beach, and ask them to write a story about it using the skills we have learned in recent weeks.
I believe feedback is hugely important and always leave time to provide in-class feedback whenever a student has produced any written work. I can also mark essays that students have written for homework.
