About Szymon
I'm Szymon, a passionate Computer Science undergraduate at Leeds Beckett University currently on track for a First Class Honours degree. My passion for technology and education has led me to spend the last three years helping students grasp coding and succeed in their Computer Science studies.
Outside of tutoring, I'm a software developer with experience building full-stack applications using Python, Django, and modern web technologies. I've competed in hackathons and worked as a Software Engineering Intern, giving me real-world insight that I bring into every lesson. This practical experience complements my academic knowledge, allowing me to bridge the gap between theory and application.
I understand that programming can feel intimidating at first, which is why I prioritise creating a supportive, judgement-free learning environment. Whether you're a GCSE student facing exams or a complete beginner taking your first steps into coding, I'm committed to helping you build confidence and achieve your goals through patient, structured guidance.

With over 3 years of tutoring experience and 200+ lessons completed, I specialise in GCSE Computer Science and Python, C, and Java programming for students aged 10 and up, from complete beginners to those preparing for exams. Each session is one hour long and follows a structured, hands-on approach.
I begin every lesson by explaining core theory in an accessible way, then immediately put that knowledge into practice. For exam preparation, we work through past paper questions; for programming, I provide coding tasks that gradually increase in difficulty.
My teaching philosophy centres on building independent problem-solving skills. When students write code, I encourage them to experiment, make mistakes, and learn how to interpret error messages themselves. If they get stuck, I offer hints to guide their thinking rather than simply providing answers. Once we work through a solution together, I give them a similar problem to ensure they've truly understood the concept.
