About Oliver
I believe we're often taught poorly in literature, art and media - with teachers sometimes failing to connect the reason for analysis, the importance and the process. I think there can be a great joy to be found in investigating a piece of media, formulating an idea based on context and evidence, then breaking that idea apart. It is the spirit of academia, and once it's unlocked, you can do anything.

My lessons involve exploring the text, idea or subject through careful breakdown of key components, understand the methodology and reasoning behind point, evidence and analysis
A lesson will be an hour long, for GCSE, A-Level or University students looking to expand their writing, whether in creative practice or theoretical analysis.
This will involve discovering possible sources for evidence, analysing text, exploring creatives, and building an understanding of context.
In creative writing, we will look at key structure, the core of the idea, the heart of the story and explore case studies to amplify your work.
In English Literature and Art analysis, we will look at the source material, the key points in the book we can use for evidence, understanding arguments and their strengths and weaknesses, and the core principles of Academia.
As a writer of a highly marked dissertation, a book reviewer, copywriter and creative writer and director in film and television, I can elevate your media literacy and provide a strong, practical structure to your writing and ideation.
