About Andrew
I have been painting for the past 13 years and for the most part have been a self taught painter.
Over those 13 years I have learned allot, experimented with new styles and techniques, and have become a successful artist.
Ive shown my work in a variety of locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New Orleans. The most recent being my 2018 solo show at The Theodore Payne Foundation, near LA.
Ive taught beginner level painting for group classes, but this is the first time I am using my art tailor in depth lessons for eager students.

My lessons are custom tailored to the students needs and past experiences in painting. My lessons are geared for the excited beginner all the way up to a well seasoned painter.
My style of art and what excites me about painting are things that influence my lessons. I specialize in realistic landscapes, trees, light and shadow.
I focus on getting the foundation of a painting off to a solid start. Good composition, nice flow and movement, and interesting subject matter. Being able to draw the general shapes in a composition as well as understanding depth and perspective is key.
I have extensive knowledge in different painting techniques, such as subtractive color painting (using opaque colors) and additive color painting (using colored translucent glazes)
Once I know what the student wants to achieve and what materials they have I will supply a list of suggested materials needed for the lessons.
My lessons will be broken down into easy to follow sections, and can evolve as the lessons progress based on the students needs.
