About Ala
I'm a fine artist based at Wasps, Edinburgh, with 12 years' experience teaching art for York Council, London and Oxford, alongside extensive experience delivering private and group workshops and courses.
I hold an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL.
I specialise in designing inclusive, accessible art education for learners of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced practitioners, with a strong focus on drawing, painting, and experimental practice — delivered in both one-to-one and group settings.

With 12 years of experience teaching art, I work with students of all ages — from kids to adults — and all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced artists.
My teaching style is flexible and student-led: I combine live demonstrations with project-based work, and place a strong focus on observation and life drawing to build a solid foundation in technique.
I also bring in art history where relevant, helping students understand the context and ideas behind different styles and movements. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, I adapt each lesson to the individual's pace, interests, and goals, helping them grow in confidence while developing their own artistic style.
