About Ella
I am a passionate student entering my final year studying psychology at the University of Birmingham, with a keen interest in pursuing a career in clinical psychology. Psychology has always been my strongest subject, achieving an A* at A Level and averaging a first in my studies at University. Through my previous voluntary work, volunteering at a youth group and work experience at a school, I have developed great interpersonal skills and demonstrated that I am able to connect and communicate effectively with others. Furthermore, I have experience working one on one with students when I was on placement in Sixth form and also through the buddy mentoring scheme I participated in. I value myself as a creative individual that is always up for a challenge and can work successfully in demanding situations.

Throughout my extensive education I have cultivated an effective exam technique. I have found the most successful approach to revision is using past papers, therefore I will help the student to break down the exam questions to ascertain what it is really asking of them and how to approach an answer. I have a plethora of resources and example questions and answers. My lessons are aimed at A Level and GCSE students, whether that be those struggling with understanding psychological concepts and theory or those in need of exam technique improvement. The length of lesson can be variable dependent on student request, however, an hour on a school working day is advisable and potentially longer at weekends and holidays. Due to current circumstances, lessons will be carried out online, for example, via Zoom. I have had previous experience mentoring students during my time in Sixth form. I arranged to meet a student weekly, during lunchtimes, that needed additional assistance with Chemistry studies. I continued this throughout her first year where she saw a huge improvement in her continuous assessment grades.
