About Courtney

I am Courtney Tarantaal but most of my learners know me as Ms. Tarantaal or Ms. T. My teaching journey began in 2020, I will be a graduate within two months. Teaching is my passion, I love to connect with my learners and students through their lessons. Being a teacher is not just a job, I mold my learners/students into the best versions of themselves by assisting and encouraging them throughout their lesson time. I always bring life to my lessons by using at least one of the five senses. This enhances my lessons and it highlights each lesson individually. Choosing me as your tutor will be the best decision in your life.

About the lesson

English is the language of business which means it is important to know how to spell, to write grammatically or academically correct and to understand what you are reading or what the questions are expecting of you. My lessons will teach you skills that will be beneficial for your future. You will be able to speak, read and write fluently in English. I am in my final year of teaching which means I am trained and equipped to give you the best lessons and results you seek to obtain. Afrikaans is my first additional language and I was taught to speak isiXhosa in my first year of university. This means I can assist learners/students into understanding their school work more by code switching so that they can understand in their own language. It will develop their critical thinking skills and broaden their English vocabulary. 1st Lesson is FREE!

The free lesson will consist of getting to know the learner/student and they can get to know me. This step is important as it is the first step of building a safe learning environment with the learner/student. The next step will be to find out what the learner/student is struggling with. Based on the answers the learner/student has given I will be able to create lessons accordingly and set activities to help them practice during the lesson with my assistance. Tutoring will commence fully after the 1st free session.
