About Louis
I am a dedicated Film & Media Studies graduate from York St John University. My journey began with achieving a C in A-Level Film Studies and continued with earning a 2.2 in my undergraduate degree. These milestones reflect not only my perseverance but also my deep love for cinema and its power to inspire. I want to teach Film Studies because I believe every student deserves the chance to unlock their potential, gain confidence in critical thinking, and discover how film can shape their understanding of culture, history, and storytelling. My personal approach is supportive, engaging, and designed to help learners grow both academically and creatively.

As someone who has been very experienced with Film Studies for the last 5 years, I offer private tutoring that goes beyond traditional teaching. My approach is personal, supportive, and rooted in a genuine love of film. I don’t just explain theory or history—I help students connect with cinema in ways that inspire confidence, creativity, and critical thinking. Every session is tailored to individual needs, ensuring learners not only improve academically but also discover their own voice and potential. With me, Film Studies becomes more than a subject—it becomes a journey of growth and discovery. Typical video tutorials last between 30-60 minutes, but can be longer or shorter if you want them to be. I respond to messages very quickly and as your tutor I am also available for questions and advice and will respond to students' queries outside of lesson time. I make sure my students feel fully supported throughout their assignments.
